Julián Terán



b. 1977, La Plata, Argentina - lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Julián Terán grew up in Monte, a rural town in the province of Buenos Aires, where the artist continues to reside and work.  He graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón, and was trained at workshops with Fabiana Barreda and Rodrigo Alonso, among other artists.  

Terán has had solo exhibitions in galleries in Buenos Aires, and has participated in several group exhibitions such as at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Rosario (MACRO), the Museo Castagnino, the Centro Cultural Recoleta, and the Centro Cultural Borges, in Buenos Aires.

In 2014, his work was featured in Litoralismo at the Museo the Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires in Argentina.  

The artist's work forms part of several important Latin American private collections, and has been included in several international art fairs, such as ArteBA, Buenos Aires; ArtBo, Bogotá; and Pinta, New York. 

 

In addition to being a visual artist, Julián Terán is a musician and composer that fuses traditional Argentine folk rhythms with electronic and alternative music.
